Professional Biography:

Brittany moved to Fayetteville in July 2008 from Massillon, Ohio, where she was born and raised. Brittany graduated from Mount Union College in May of 2005 with a B.A. in Sport Management, minoring in Business Administration, and concentrating in Marketing. After working for The J.M. Smucker Company, the City of Canal Fulton, and the University of Akron, Brittany returned to school at Kent State University and received her M.A. degree in Exercise, Leisure, and Sport -- Sport & Recreation Management in May of 2008, while serving as a Graduate Assistant for Athletics in Facilities & Operations. Brittany received her AMR First Aid/CPR Instructor Certification in August 2008 and became a Certified Pool Operator in May 2009. She is enrolled in the Supervisor Development Program through the University of Arkansas and will complete the course in fall 2009. She also plans to become certified as a Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor in the near future.

Job Duties:

Brittany is responsible for the administration of the aquatics program and management of the natatorium, performing the hiring, training and scheduling of all natatorium staff, assisting with the administration of the program-wide student employee development program for a work force of more than 300 part-time employees, assisting with the planning and supervision of more than 170 special events conducted in the HPER Building each year, assisting with the coordination of all facility maintenance projects, and maintaining accurate records on all aspects of the position. Other responsibilities include facility scheduling, facility maintenance, risk management, equipment inventory and maintenance, facility renovation, facility and program planning, budgeting, human resource and payroll, reporting, and assisting other staff conduct sponsored activities.
