I once heard that a new beginning starts every second. Campus recreation at the University of Arkansas may well be undergoing a new beginning. In a few months we should be closer to knowing just how much a new facility is wanted.
The feasibility study for improved campus recreation facilities began two weeks ago with the help of a several hundred students who attended the student focus sessions. Representatives from Cannon Design recorded student comments from over 8 hours of sessions. The firm has since designed an email survey that will be distributed to every student during the week of November 26.
I encourage you to provide your input into this process. We truly want to hear from you. The results will guide us over the next few months as we further plan focus sessions and facility concepts.
Campuses all over the United States have improved their campus recreation facilities. The result has been a huge impact upon recruitment, retention, and the quality of life.
