Forfeits & Default Forfeits
Forfeits--- Any team or individual not ready to play a contest at the scheduled location at the scheduled time with a current student ID or HPER membership card shall automatically forfeit the contest. NO GRACE PERIOD WILL BE ALLOWED. In case of unavoidable delay (i.e. weather) starting time may be extended at the discreation of the on-site supervisor.Forfeit losses may be assessed for the following, but is not limited to:
Forfeit fines are assessed for team ($30), dual ($6), and individual ($3) events. Forfeit fines must be paid within four business days. If the next sport entry date is before the forfeit fine deadline, then the fine must be paid prior to registering for that sport. Failure to pay fine by the deadline will result in a team/individual(s) being dropped from competition, or suspension form further participation in Intramural events. Contests that are completed prior to a team being dropped from the league shall remain official. Two no show forfeits will result in the team being dropped from the league.
Default Forfeits--- Any team unable to attend a scheduled contest should notify the Intramural/Recreational Sports Office (575.2986 or imsports@uark.edu) at least 24 hours before the scheduled game. Proper notification of a team's inability to field a team for an event will waive the fine typically assessed for a forfeit. However, the team will receive a loss for the contest and the opposing team will be awarded a win. A second forfeit will result in the team being withdrawn from the league.
