
SPORT CLUB EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Sport Club Executive Committee shall be comprised of representatives from five (5) sport clubs. Membership on the committee shall be determined by the Sport Club Council. The role of the Sport Club Executive Committee shall be to serve as the leadership to the Sport Club Program. The Committee shall have the following responsibilities.
- Serve as a liaison between active sport clubs and the Sport Club Staff.
- Advise on Sport Club policies and procedures as well as amendments or additions to the Sport Club Handbook.
- Interpret the Sport Club Program to students, faculty and staff.
- Aid in enforcement of Sport Club policies and procedures.
- Advise on disciplinary actions against club violating Sport Club policies and procedures.
ORGANIZATION OF THE COMMITTEE
- Chairperson – The committee shall elect a chairperson at its first meeting of each fall semester. The term of the chairperson shall be for one year and shall expire upon the election of the new chairperson. The chairperson will also serve on the IMRS Advisory Board as the representative of the Sport Club Program.
- Vice-President - A vice-chair will also be elected to assume the chairperson’s position if, for any reason, the chairperson resigns and/or to act in his or her absence.
- Secretary – The Sport Club Committee shall also elect a recording secretary whose term shall coincide with the chairperson’s. The secretary is responsible for documenting minutes of committee meetings. The committee shall form its own operational guidelines for elections, conduct of meetings, and meeting dates. A copy of the committee minutes shall be provided to each member and the Intramural/Recreational Sports Program.
- Members – Members of the committee include the chairperson, secretary, and representatives from 3 other clubs. Non-voting members of the committee shall be the Sport Club Graduate Assistant and the Associate Director of Intramural/Recreational Sports.
