MISSION STATEMENT
The Sport Club Program provides opportunities for individuals who share a common interest in a specific sport to enjoy the benefits of a group experience. Clubs are regulated by program and university policy but retain the characteristic of self-administration and self-regulation. Members assume a variety of roles within the club (member, officer, etc.) and are called upon to assist in all aspects of club operations.
PHILOSOPHY
The Intramural/Recreational Sports Program embraces the concept that all eligible students, faculty and staff be provided opportunities to experience sports regulated activities that are not available through an academic or intramural program. The Sport Club Program is designed to provide these experiences and the organizational system to effectively administer them. The primary purpose of the Sport Club Program is to provide opportunities for students, faculty and staff members to pursue recreational and athletic interests that cannot be encompassed by academic and/or varsity athletic programs.
Objectives:
1. To provide administrative leadership for each club.
2. To assist each club to secure funding, equipment and facilities to pursue its function.
3. To monitor the administrative and financial operations of each club.
4. To promote wholesome educational, social, and competitive opportunities for each club.
5. To aid in developing lifelong habits for participation in sport related activities.
