MEN'S SOCCER ADVANCES TO OCCSL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

University of Arkansas Men's Club Soccer edged the University of Oklahoma-COLSA 1-0 in Norman, Oklahoma this weekend to earn a spot within the Oklahoma Collegiate Club Soccer League Championship. CLUB SPORTS STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Annie Fulton - President, Women's Volleyball

Major, classification, and hometown: Architectural Studies junior from Olathe, Kansas

Why did you choose the University of Arkansas? It's a good distance from home, they offered me a generous scholarship, and it's just an awesome place to be.

What are you career goals? I want to go into sustainable development with a focus in urban/architectural issues.

How will your participation in club volleyball help you reach these goals? It has taught me how to run an organization as well as how to work with a wide variety of people, students, and administrators.

What other organizations are you involved with at the University? American Institute of Architecture Students / Secretary of US Green Building Council Student group / Professional Development Institute / Club Sports Advisory Committee

What are the benefits of membership in Volleyball? It's really challenging, interesting, and valuable being a student-athlete, even if it is not at the collegiate level. It is really fun to travel and play a sport that I love while representing the University of Arkansas. And of course getting to play volleyball 3 times a week with some great guys and gals is a plus.

What is your favorite Fayetteville hangout? Wilson Park if it's nice out

What do you tell others that are interested in Arkansas? It's a great University in a beautiful part of the country. It has the Southern feel with big time sports and many opportunities for students both in and out of the classroom.

What has been your best Volleyball Club experience? The trip to Colorado for the Mountain West Championships where we placed 5th as the only team outside of the state of Colorado with only 6 girls. Seeing the club triple in membership and more than triple in travel/events since my freshman year has been pretty awesome as well.

On your team...who is the most likely to become a volleyball coach? Evann Hopkins-- She already coaches private lessons to kids from her high school in the summer.

...the most competitive? Me     ...the loudest? Evann Hopkins     ...most outgoing? Rebecca Greenway. She is a school mascot after all.

If you were on Amazing Race, who would you pick as your partner? Alicia England because she's tough and would not give up.

What is your favorite quote? "Go not where the path my lead, go instead where there is no path... and leave a trail." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Describe yourself in three words: Dedicated. Interested. Fun.

What is your favorite hobby away from volleyball? Scuba diving at the ocean.
