Lifeguard Certification

DATES:  FEB 29-MAR 2, and MAR 8.   Friday, February 29th  5:00pm-10:00pm.  Saturday, March 1st from 10:00am-9:00pm.  Sunday, March 2nd from 1:00pm-9:00pm.  Saturday, March 8th from 10:00am-9:00pm.

Course Description:

This course will teach participants:

  • Surveillance skills to help recognize and prevent injuries
  • Rescue skills or the water and on land
  • First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer training
  • Professional lifeguard responsibilities such as interacting with the public and addressing uncooperative patrons

Course Requirements:

  • Must be 15 years of age
  • Must pass pre-course swim test:  300 yard swim (100 front crawl, 100 breast stroke, 100 either stroke), Dive 12 feet to retrieve a 10-pound brick and swim it 20 yards in 1 minute 40 seconds


Cost:  TBA --- (approx. $130 for U of A students / $180 for non-U of A students)
